The last date to apply for the exam is 16th October 2025. 

The openings have been offered for the following posts:-

• Sub-Inspector (GD) in CAPFs: The post carries pay scale of Level-6 (Rs.35,400-Rs.1,12,400/-) and is classified as Group ‘B’ (Non-Gazetted), Non-Ministerial. 
• Sub-Inspector (Executive) – (Male/Female) in Delhi Police: The post carries pay scale of Level-6 (Rs.35,400-Rs.1,12,400/-) and is classified as Group ‘C’ by Delhi Police.

SSC CPO Recruitment 2025: What positions are recruited through SSC CPO exam?

SSC conducts the SSC CPO Exam to recruit candidates for the position of Sub Inspector in the Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs). Candidates who qualify in each stage will be shortlisted for the positions of Sub Inspector (Executive) in Delhi Police and Sub Inspector (General Duty) in other CAPFs. The candidates are recruited for the following positions through the SSC CPO 2025 Exam.

Eligibility Criteria for SSC CPO 2025

After the key dates and vacancies, let’s understand the eligibility criteria for SSC CPO 2025 to check whether you can apply for this exam or not. The basic eligibility requirements for all the exams conducted by SSC remain the same- Citizen of India, or Subject of Nepal / Bhutan, with a certificate of eligibility as required by GOI. 

Other requirements for SSC CPO 2025:-

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 20 years as on 01-07-2025
• Maximum Age: 25 years as on 01-07-2025
• Relaxations:
  • SC / ST: +5 years
  • OBC: +3 years
  • Ex-servicemen: as per rules
  • Jammu & Kashmir domiciled: 5 years (where applicable)
  • Widows / divorced / separated women (unreserved): up to 35 years in some cases.

Educational Qualification

• The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree (any discipline) from a recognized university or equivalent.
• Candidates in the final year/semester may apply, provided they obtain the degree/diploma on or before the date specified by SSC. (Check official notification for specifics.)

The major difference in the eligibility requirement comes because of the need of physical examination in the SSC CPO exam which is commonly not needed for exams like CGL, CHSL etc.

Physical / Other Requirements

• Height:
  • Male: at least 170 cm
  • Female: at least 157 cm
• Chest (for men): 80 cm (unexpanded) / 85 cm (expanded)
• Must be physically and medically fit as per the requirements specified in the notification.

How to Apply for SSC CPO 2025?

Step 1: Log in to the official website (ssc.gov.in) by entering your username and password. If you are a new user, you should first register (OTR) and then log in.

Step 2: After logging in, you will find the tabs for live exams. Click on the required exam (Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces Examination, 2025).

Step 3: Enter and verify all your details from Name, Address, to Preferred exam centre. Make sure you enter all the details correctly.

Step 4: After the details, you would be required to capture a live photo, for which you need to download MySSC and AadhaarFaceRD applications. You also need to upload the required documents in this step.

Exam Stages 

Let’s look at the exam pattern and selection criteria in detail. The selection will be a multi-stage process:

1. Paper I (Computer Based Test, CBT / Objective)
2. Physical Standard Test (PST) / Physical Endurance Test (PET)
3. Paper II (Descriptive / Objective format as per SSC rules)
4. Detailed Medical Examination

Paper I / Tier I 

• In this stage, objective-type questions will be asked covering subjects such as English, Quantitative Aptitude, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Knowledge / Current Affairs. There will be a total of 4 sections.
• SSC has indicated sectional timing may be imposed (e.g. 30 minutes per section) in 2025.
• Duration of the SSC CPO 2025 TIER 1 Exam: 2 hours 
• Maximum Marks: 200

Physical Test (PST / PET)

• Candidates who qualify in Paper I will undergo physical tests (running, long jump, high jump, etc.) as per SSC parameters for men and women.

Paper II / Tier II

• Paper II consists of a written examination to assess candidates’ ability in English and other relevant areas (composition/comprehension etc.) as per SSC rules.
• Total Number of questions: 200
• Duration of the SSC CPO 2025 TIER 2 Exam: 2 hours 
• Maximum Marks: 200

Medical Examination

• Final stage includes the complete medical testing and examinations to verify medical fitness. Non-compliance with these requirements may lead to disqualification even if a candidate cleared earlier stages.
